“ Here for the second time. Food was great. We had Roti bakar telur goyang, Kacang Pool and Lontong Kuah Lodeh. The first time I came here, I ordered roti bakar telur goyang. It was so good that I had to order it again this time. The bread was thick and fluffy. Half boiled eggs were perfect and jiggly as they should. Only I had to wait for it for quite a bit before it came out. Kacang pool came with two slices of toast. Quite good but I’ve had better. Would be nice if there’s more spices. Lontong kuah lodeh was great. Good portion of vegetables and tempeh. Add sambal kelapa and it’d be 10/10. ”

“ A small warung selling authentic Johorean dishes hence the name ‘Selera Johor’ tuck inside housing area in the Sungai Kantan, Kajang. We like their lontong, lontong darat and laksa Johor in term the quality of ingredients and taste of the food. Kudos to them. Parking was a breeze as well with ample of parking just beside the shop. Every Friday the shop owner will infaq by providing light food and drinks for free, may Allah granted them with a lot of rezeki and successful business ahead ”
“ Authentic Johorean food is hard to come by in Kajang area. East Coast and Penang cuisines are somewhat more popular. But fortunately Selera Johor is flying the flag for Johor cuisine. Featuring Johor staples like Kacang Pol, Lontong Kering (aka Lontong Darat), Mee Bandung and Nasi Ambeng. Their Nasi Ambeng is rice with a side of Mee Goreng, Serunding Kelapa, Ayam Kicap and Fried Salted Fish. I added some Sambal Prawns as well to make up for the Urap (vegetable with grated coconut) which had run out. The chicken in soya sauce looked black and unappetising but it was well cooked and quite tasty. The serunding and salted fish added a burst of umami flavours. This was a very satisfying Nasi Ambeng and it gets a Highly Recommended. Soto can be had with Nasi impit or Bihun. I chose the latter and added an extra Begedil (potato cutlet). The soup was tasty enough with shredded chicken added and topped fried fried crispy Bihun as well. The Begedil could have been better seasoned as it lacked flavour. This was decent enough but I had to add lots of the sambal kicap to boost the flavours of the dish. Lontong Kuah Sayur Lodeh was Nasi impit in a creamy coconut gravy. It was late in the morning and most of the vegetables from the gravy had already been taken and there were mainly sohun/glass noodles remaining. However the vegetables had imparted a nice sweetness to the coconut gravy. Topped with serunding kelapa, kuah kacang (peanut gravy) and sambal cili, this was another winner. I added some Paru Sambal but this was rather chewy. I’d give the Lontong a Recommended. I’ll be back to try their Kacang Pol, Mee Bandung and Lontong Kering. ”
